My Fair Colbert: Stephen's Crown Jewels

April 6, 2011

The lamestream media's wall-to-wall coverage of the royal wedding left many questions unanswered. Is hugging the queen an appropriate way to greet her? Do jodhpurs and a riding whip constitute appropriate attire? While waiting for his wedding invitation to arrive, Stephen met with a royal expert to answer these and other questions.

Author, historian and House of Windsor expert Hugo Vickers is the kind of English gentleman who actually poses for a portrait in an ascot and velvet jacket and has authored books with titles like "Horses and Husbands" and "The Queen Mother." (For more on Vickers, princesses and large animals, visit his website).

The video series "My Fair Colbert: Stephen Colbert's Crown Jewels" is the result of Stephen's work with Vickers. Watch as he gets advice about his stiffy... and what to wear at the wedding.

Stephen even learns how to properly greet the queen, an event every royal-watcher should prepare for.

And as the final step in his royal transformation, Stephen goes to Brooks Brothers with Vickers as stylist.

Exclusive Outtakes

As part of your ongoing Will and Kate celebrations (admit it -- you're still getting up at 4 a.m. dressed in pajamas and your Easter bonnet), watch the series and exclusive, never-aired outtakes, in which Stephen brings up the shrieking ghost of an Irish ancestor...

...and threatens to jack Prince Philip -- something that, deep down, we've all been wanting to do anyway.
